I always use high quality 100% cotton which I prewash to prevent shrinkage. I use 100% polyester Pellon fleece as the inner batting and the backing is a Robert Kaufman solid cinnamon cotton. The mats are quilted “in the ditch” (along seam lines) and topstitched around the edges to ensure years of use. They measure ~14” x 20” and are reversible. I take pride in my work and the precision of my piecing. Also of note in this offering is the inclusion of two batiks among the fabrics which enhance the melding of the design.

This set of four placemats will enhance any table this fall.These would be a colorful addition to any table this season! They are pieced together and made with cotton batting between the layers. Each placemat measures approximately 16in. by 13in. The fabric was pre-washed, so it should not shrink. It should be washed with like colors in cold water and dried on low or air dried.

Bamboo and Harvest colors patchwork placemat
This patchwork placemat is set up as six blocks, with blocks of diagonal strips of green, red, orange and brown alternating with blocks featuring a bamboo design fabric on a brown background. Binding and backing are all in bayberry red. The placemat is machine-quilted in a traditional crosshatch pattern. All placemats are slightly different due to the placement of the fabric strips, but they all use the same fabrics. Fabric is 100% cotton. Batting is an 80/20 cotton and polyester blend. Size is approx 14 inches by 18 inches.
