This super cute scarecrow is great for Fall and Thanksgiving. He is cut from 1/2" Baltic birch and measures 36" tall x 12" wide. With his size and great fall colors he will really stand out in your yard. LOTS of detail in this guy! His hat brim, pumpkin with hands, nose and pant cuffs are all separate pieces and cut from 1/4" Baltic birch. Raffia is glued under hat brim and pant cuffs to give him the scarecrow straw look. Everything is attached with wood glue, glue and brads. All pieces were varnished with outdoor poly shield non yellowing varnish.

Primitive Scarecrow
Each item is hand crafted in our smoke free home (except for the occasional burnt batch of cookies). All wood is rough cut kiln dried pine; 1 inch for the main bodies and accented with 5/16 or 1/4 inch pine for stars, brims, and noses etc. It has small knots and grain which give our crafts a rustic look when sanded and stained. Each item is cut, painted, sanded, and then antiqued with stain/sealer. Lisa hand paints the faces and lettering and then digs through her endless supply of fabric, grapevine, rusty stars, rusty bells, pinecones, broomcorn, buttons, wire and anything else she comes up with, to put her final touches on each craft.
