Lidded Pumpkin Jar
This is a handmade stoneware pumpkin jar. I don't know about you, but I love candy corn and wanted a festive way to store it! They're also a fun way to hide your stash of your own favorite Halloween candy! I threw the body and the lid on my pottery wheel with stoneware clay. I carved out the lines when the clay is leather hard and then added a handle.

This is a handmade stoneware pumpkin jar. I don't know about you, but I love candy corn and wanted a festive way to store it! They're also a fun way to hide your stash of your own favorite Halloween candy! I threw the body and the lid on my pottery wheel with stoneware clay. I carved out the lines when the clay is leather hard and then added a handle. I used a tangerine glaze on the outside and marigold inside. As a finishing touch, I glue the "curly q's" from grapevine around the handle. This jar is 6.5" tall to the tip of the handle. The body is 4" tall. It measures 4.25" wide at the belly and 3.5" wide at the mouth.

Great condition with no chips or cracks on the jar or the lid. The jar measures approximately 7 inches in diameter and 4 3/4 inches deep. 6 1/2" to the top of the knob with the lid in place. I hand cast this cookie jar using a mold and slip, or clay in its liquid form. After it was dry, I cleaned and fired it in my electric kiln. I glazed it with lead free, food safe glaze. The interior is glazed clear. I fired it a second time in my kiln. The gold accents are real 24 k gold, which required a third firing. Measures- approx. 31 inches in diameter, and approx. 10 inches high.
