DIY Turkey Placemats
With a little bit of colored felt to make the turkey and very basic stitching know-how, you can easily create these adorable turkeys. The pattern is very easy to draw out. The beaks are cute, but I would have also liked to see little googly eyes that roll around as the turkey's head is lifted to extract the napkin. It's an excellent touch to a kids table and I'm sure your guests would appreciate this extra thought and time you gave to preparing the kids table!

Thanksgiving Turkey Coloring Placemat and Crayon Holder Kit
I love this Thanksgiving Placemats tutorial because the kids will be very involved coloring their own placemats before the meal is served. This is a great way to get the kids to sit at the table early. They will be excited to color their turkey in their own unique way. The best part? The kids will be able to use their placemats right after, when dinner is served! This tutorial is fantastic and provides you with free downloads for the turkey napkin ring, turkey placemat and turkey crayon holder. I like how the setting is neatly placed in preparation for the kid guests.

Thanksgiving Table Scape
In this tutorial, you will be converting your entire table into a placemat! With the black posterboard, you can create a type of chalkboard placemat where kids can decorate the entire table with their own chalk designs. The chalk can be removed with a damp cloth, so it's easy cleanup. This is an easier way to make a chalkboard canvas if you don't want to use chalkboard paint.

However, if you DO want to use chalkboard paint, here is a great tutorial of using Chalkboard paint to paint over brown butcher paper to create your own chalkboard canvas.

for a festive celebration table, i've got you covered. diy
This tutorial is very crafty and the kids in it are great artists! The art was very colorful and very relevant to fall!

DIY Thanksgiving Placemats
These Thanksgiving placemats were more sentimental and personal and I thought that the idea of making the Turkey feathers based on what the family was Thankful for that year made it extra special. They created the placemats and then had a discussion on all the things they were grateful for based on the feathers each put on their turkey placemat. I thought this was a lovely idea. This is a great learning experience for the kids to teach them about the idea behind Thanksgiving and it could also be the start of a family tradition.

Making Thanksgiving Special – Kid Friendly Thanksgiving Ideas
I like that this blogger was blunt about trying to get the kids to sit still and eat their Thanksgiving meal. I think this blogger may have hacked the Thanksgiving kids table secret! With a fun game of Tic-Tac-Turkey and a checklist of what each child ate. Shelley put a lot of thought into making the table kid friendly, from the cutlery she used, to the cups, the activities, the decorations and making the food look fun to eat. She set a world record, the kids sat for 4 whole minutes!
