Garland is made of felt balls measuring approximately 1 inch in diameter (about the size of a quarter), that are strung together on white cotton string to form one long garland. The string is not knotted, and the felt balls can be adjusted on the string as you please. Once positioned, the balls will not move unless moved again by you. The garland pictured lends about 2 inches between each felt ball. Each end of the garland is looped for easy hanging. This felted wool acorn garland is a perfect way to bring a little of the beautiful outdoors into your home! This garland measures 6 feet (1.8 m) long and has 12 acorns. The acorns tops are collected near my home in Portland, Oregon and the wool "acorns" are made from wool and cashmere fabrics reclaimed from old sweaters. The wool fabric has been washed in natural, unscented soap until they shrink down into a soft and thick material. The acorns are stuffed with clean, carded sheep's wool. The acorns hang along a length of natural hemp twine with hanging loops on the ends. Just as in nature, the acorns vary a bit in size.
