Autumn Wool - a rare
I have never seen such a beautiful wool. Indeed, Vera made very few wool scarves at all. This one is from the 1980's, as reveal by the "pure wool - tout laine" tag. A gorgeous, intricate design is a Modern nod to the beloved moments of Autumn in New England. The dark, pine green background lets the bright red and golden yellow leaves pop and shine as they gently float. The pure, woven wool has a fine, watery drape. Strong machine hems hold the edge and reveal the quality and care of make. Measures 52" by 9". Made in Japan with pure soft wool - tout laine. Dry clean is best. Gentle hand wash in mild, organic soap is okay.

This hand painted Silk Scarf is a soft silk habotai painted with a gorgeous background of browns, greens, yellows and orangy pinks. Over this is a sprinkling of autumn leaves. This is hand painted silk so, even though I may repeat my pattern for the leaves , no two scarves are ever the same. It is a free hand, watercolour inspired design so there will usually be some asymmetry in the pattern. It measures approximately 62 inches x 11 inches (158 x 28 cms ) and is lovely and soft on the skin.
